Bay and bow windows stick outwards from the exterior wall creating a larger space. They let more light in as they have more glass than a flat window. Bay and bow windows come in a range of heights and openings with options for the type of glazing used.
Bay and bow windows look very similar but bay windows project outwards in sharper angles. They are usually made up of 3 frames. You can usually stand in the bay to look outside as there is extra floor space at the window.
Bow windows project from the side of the wall at a softer angle and are often 5, 6, or 7 frames. It is normally only the window that projects with no extra floor space to stand in.
